I guess going 40 years without winning a title can make one delusional, which may be the explanation for James Dolan’s thoughts this season. The New York Knicks owner told coaches recently that they have all the pieces to win a Championship and he expects this to be the year the drought is over.
Last season the Knicks finished an impressive second in the Eastern conference, however their luck came to a halt in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of the Pacers. It seems their misfortune will continue this season as most of their conference rivals have greatly improved over the summer, while the Knicks seem to be at a standstill. Seeing the size and talents of the teams in the Eas,t the Knicks would be lucky to finish 6th this season, at best!
Although every owner has a right to expect nothing but the best from his employees, in this case a Championship is simply out of touch with what is possible for the season. Better luck next year!
